Coming of Age...

Fake Natty Vibes: The NPC Simulation

“Fake Natty Vibes” is the point where Coming of Age... stops merely observing the world and starts pushing back against it.

Two recordings

The same composition, recorded twice. The versions differ in structure and length, not only in voice.

Lyrics — Ilajna's Version

Yeah...

Everybody's in their soft era...

But nobody's got an original thought...

It's all plastic...

Walk in the room

It's a copy-paste scene

Slicked-back bun

In the same shade of green

Pilates at eight

But they do it for the clicks

Face tuned up

Yeah they know all the tricks

She says

"I woke up like this"

Organic and raw

But I saw the pixelation

Blurring out her jaw

Fake Natty body

Fake Natty on the app

Selling makeup courses

Girl it's nothing but a trap

They hit the same pose

They make the same face

Running in circles

In an artificial race

Scrolling through the feed

It's a simulation glitch

Everybody switching up

To figure out the pitch

I'm just looking for a soul

In the middle of the noise

But it's nothing but a room

Full of algorithmic decoys

Everybody's trending

Nobody's free

Everybody's somebody

Nobody's me

I'm drowning

In the Fake Natty vibes

Living in a world

Where authenticity dies

Trying to find a real one

A needle in the hay

But these NPCs

Are programmed

Just to get in my way

Chasing after clout

Like a dog on a bone

Everybody's connected

But we're dying alone

Yeah

It's Fake Natty Vibes

It's a plastic parade

Welcome to the Matrix

Where the truth starts to fade

Hit record

Fake a laugh

Put it on the timeline

Rented out the Prada

Just to say that she's doing fine

If it ain't a hashtag

Did it even happen?

If it ain't a hashtag

Did it even happen?

Lip-sync to the audio

They ain't even rapping

Caught them in the wild

No filter on the face

Looking like a stranger

In a totally different place

They would sell their best friend

For a viral little trend

We became the product

Packaging it till the end

Chasing after blue checks

Water in the drought

Whole squad starving

Just to feed a little clout

Blue light

Beaming on an empty shell

Is it heaven on the screen

Or a pastel hell?

I don't want the followers

I just want a friend

But the simulation's running

Till the very end

If everybody's perfect

Who are we pretending for?

When did being human

Stop being enough anymore?

I'm drowning

In the Fake Natty vibes

Living in a world

Where authenticity dies

Trying to find a real one

A needle in the hay

But these NPCs

Are programmed

Just to get in my way

Chasing after clout

Like a dog on a bone

Everybody's connected

But we're dying alone

Yeah

It's Fake Natty Vibes

It's a plastic parade

Welcome to the Matrix

Where the truth starts to fade

Am I a glitch

In the code?

An anomaly made?

Or did I take the red pill

To escape the parade?

Everybody's Fake Natty...

I...

Gotta...

Keviv's Version

Lyrics — Keviv's Version

Yeah, everybody's a main character
But nobody's writing their own script

It's all plastic

Walk in the room, it's a copy-paste scene
Everybody acting like a script on a screen

Same haircut
Same shoes
Same slang

Whole generation moving like a digital gang
Bro swearing that his lifestyle is strictly out a thug

“Fake Natty" in the gym, “Fake Natty" on the app
Selling courses on the grind, man, it's nothing but a trap

They hit the same dance, they make the same face
Running in a circle in an artificial race

Scrolling through the feed, it’s a simulation glitch
Everybody switching up to figure out the pitch

I’m just looking for a soul in the middle of the noise
but it’s nothing but a room full of “Algorithmic Boys"

I’m drowning in the fake natty vibes!
Living in a world where the authenticity dies!

Trying to find a real one, a needle in the hay
But these NPCs are programmed just to get in my way!

Chasing after clout like a dog on a bone
Everybody's connected but we're dying alone!

Yeah, it’s fake natty vibes, it’s a plastic parade
Welcome to the Matrix where the truth starts to fade!

fake... fake... nothing but a fake...

Hit record, fake a cry, put it on the timeline
Everything is content, yeah, they do it for the shine

If it ain't got a hashtag, did it even happen?
Mouth moving to the audio, they ain't even rapping!

Caught 'em in the wild, got no filter on the face
Looking like a stranger in a totally different space

They would sell their best friend for a million little views
We became the product, yeah, we’re nothing but the news

Chasing blue checks like it's water in the drought
Whole squad starving just to feed a little clout

Blue light beaming on an empty shell.
Is it heaven on the screen or a custom hell?

I don't want the followers, out of custom hell

I don't want the followers, I just want a friend
But the simulation’s running till the very end

I’m drowning in the fake natty vibes!
Living in a world where the authenticity dies!

Trying to find a real one, a needle in the hay
But these NPSs are programmed just to get in my way!

Chasing after clout like a dog on a bone
Everybody's connected but we're dying alone!

Yeah, it’s fake natty vibes, it’s a plastic parade
Welcome to the Matrix where the truth starts to fade!

Am I a glitch in the code?
An anomaly laid
Or did I pop the red pill
To break from plastic parade

Everybody's form’s plastic, natty
I gotta log off

Story Behind Fake Natty Vibes: The NPC Simulation

“Fake Natty Vibes” is the point where Coming of Age… stops merely observing the world and starts pushing back against it.

By this stage of the album, Keviv and Ilajna have already moved through identity, comparison, social pressure, withdrawal, FOMO and the performance of appearing fine. Here, something changes. They are no longer just confused by the noise around them. They are beginning to recognise it for what it is.

The title itself is deliberately provocative. “Natty” usually suggests something natural, authentic, unenhanced. “Fake Natty” flips that idea into a contradiction: something presenting itself as natural while being carefully constructed underneath. That became the perfect metaphor for the world they are looking at.

The song is about the moment when polished success, curated lifestyles, manufactured confidence, engineered desirability and social-media mythology stop feeling impressive and start feeling transparent.

Keviv and Ilajna are beginning to see the seams.

The illusion is not working on them anymore.

That is why the song carries a stronger sense of revolt than the tracks before it. Earlier, they were asking themselves whether they were good enough, whether they were missing out, whether everybody else had figured life out. Now the question changes:

What if the thing we were comparing ourselves to was never fully real in the first place?

There is a deliberate “red pill” idea running underneath the song, in the sense popularised by The Matrix: the uncomfortable choice to see beyond the surface of a constructed reality rather than continue accepting the comfortable illusion. Here, that is not meant as a political reference. It is about perception.

Once Keviv and Ilajna begin seeing the machinery behind the image, it becomes difficult to unsee it.

The impossible physiques.

The effortless wealth.

The perfect relationships.

The overnight success.

The motivational certainty.

The lifestyle presented without the cost.

The personality built for the feed.

The “authenticity” that somehow always has perfect lighting.

They are looking at all of it and essentially saying:

We can see through this now.

But the most important part of the song is that their revolt is not only directed outward.

They also begin questioning the temptation to participate in the same performance themselves.

By this point, both characters have already experienced what it feels like to construct versions of themselves for other people. Ilajna has confronted the pressure of looking polished when reality is messier. Keviv has confronted the pressure to look successful, strong and completely in control. In “Fake Natty Vibes,” those separate experiences begin to converge.

Neither of them wants to keep pretending.

They do not want to look fake.

But they also do not want to manufacture some artificial version of being “natural” just to perform authenticity differently.

That distinction matters.

The answer to a fake world is not another carefully branded kind of realness.

It is discernment.

And this is where something else begins quietly happening in the album.

As Keviv and Ilajna strip away more of the external noise, they start remembering things that existed before all of it became so loud. Their earlier experiences, the moments where they saw each other without the performance, and the sense that beneath all the noise they still understand something fundamental about one another.

Their journeys had started diverging because they are different people.

Now they begin converging again, not because those differences disappear, but because both have independently arrived at a similar conclusion:

the world is full of signals pretending to be truth.

And perhaps the person who has already seen you without the filter, without the armour, without the performance, becomes unusually important once you realise how much of everything else is constructed.

That is why “Fake Natty Vibes” functions as more than satire or cultural criticism within Coming of Age….

It is a turning point.

Before this song, Keviv and Ilajna are largely reacting to the noise.

After it, they begin learning how to separate the signal from the noise.

That transition leads directly into the next philosophical stage of the album: once you stop believing everything the world presents to you, you have to decide what is actually worth believing.

And somewhere inside that process, they begin finding each other again.
