Who Am I: For You Page (FYP)
Who Am I: For You Page asks how to recognise your own voice when algorithms, trends and social feeds keep telling you who you should be.
Two recordings
The same composition, recorded twice. The versions differ in structure and length, not only in voice.
Keviv's Version
Lyrics — Keviv's Version
Who am I? I bought the jacket that they told me to buy I'm using phrases but I don't know why It's in the bathroom light Trying on a brand new face tonight Scroll down, refresh, I absorb it all Another static, another freefall I curate the room, I curate the mood But I'm starving inside, fed on digital food And I know I'm talking just like them now But I love the feeling of fitting in the crowd The algorithm feeds me who I want to be But when the screen goes black, who is looking back at me? Oh tell me, is this my heart or the for you page? Just a digital ghost trapped inside a cage I'm mirroring the trends, I'm stealing the lines Living in a world of borrowed designs I don't even know what's real anymore Just a copy of a copy, paste in the floor Yeah, I'm caught in the infinite loop Infinite loop for you, for you Last week I was vintage, today I'm the night Changing my colors to match the blue light I built up a vibe so nobody could see That the person underneath is a mystery to me We're all just echoes in an empty space Wearing the exact same downloaded face Unplug the cord, turn off the glow If I lose connection, where do I go? Take away the screen Am I just a ghost in the machine? Oh tell me, is this my heart or the for you page? Just a digital ghost trapped inside a cage I'm mirroring the trends, I'm stealing the lines Living in a world of borrowed designs Just a copy of a copy, paste in the floor Yeah, I'm caught in the infinite loop Just a ghost in the machine Is this really me? Oh, just a ghost in the machine Is this really me? Or just a ghost in the your page?
Ilajna's Version
Lyrics — Ilajna's Version
Who am I Yeah... I bought the jacket That they told me to buy I'm using phrases But I don't know why Staring at the glass In the bathroom light Scroll down Refresh I absorb it all Another aesthetic Another free fall I curate the room I curate the mood But I'm starving inside Feeding on digital food I know I'm talking Just like them now But I love the feeling Of fitting in the crowd The algorithm feeds me Who I want to be But when the screen goes black... Who's looking back at me? Every swipe Another face Every trend Another chase Every version Feels brand new But none of them Feel true Oh tell me... Is this my heart Or the For You Page? Just a digital ghost Trapped inside a cage I'm mirroring the trends I'm stealing the lines Living in a world Of borrowed designs I don't even know What's real anymore Just a copy Of a copy Losing who I was before Yeah... Caught inside The infinite loop Infinite loop... For you... For you... Last week I was vintage Today I'm chasing blue light Changing all my colors Till they all feel right I built up a vibe So nobody could see That the person underneath Is a mystery to me A mystery to me... We're all just echoes In an empty space Wearing the exact same Downloaded face Unplug the cord Turn off the glow If I lose connection Where do I go? Take away the likes Take away the screen Am I just a ghost Inside the machine? Take away the comments Take away the views Take away the person I'm pretending to If nobody's watching If nobody applauds Would I finally meet myself... Or someone I've ignored? Oh tell me... For you... For you... Just a ghost... Inside the machine... Is this really me? Is this really me? Yeah... Just a ghost... Inside the machine... Or just another face... For you.. For You Page...
Story Behind Who Am I: For You Page (FYP)
“Who Am I: For You Page (FYP)” grew out of a very modern identity crisis: what happens when the answer to “Who am I?” is increasingly shaped by what is shown to us, liked by others, repeated by algorithms, and reflected back through social feeds?
The “FYP” in the title refers to the For You Page, but in the song it becomes something larger than a social-media feature. It represents the invisible stream of trends, opinions, aesthetics, ambitions, comparisons and expectations that constantly tells us what we should want, how we should look, what success should feel like, and even what kind of person we should become.
The song asks whether we are discovering ourselves or simply becoming a version of ourselves that has been assembled from everything we consume.
That is why the title is deliberately “Who Am I: For You Page (FYP)” rather than simply “Who Am I?”. The question itself has been filtered through the digital world.
Both Keviv’s Version and Ilajna’s Version explore that same struggle from different perspectives. The external pressures may look different, the comparisons may be different, and the way each voice responds to them may be different, but the underlying conflict is shared: how do you recognise your own voice when thousands of other voices are constantly telling you who you should be?
Within Coming of Age…, this song sits very close to the heart of the album’s larger idea. Growing up today is not only about finding your place among family, friends or society. It also means navigating a world in which identity itself can become performative. We create profiles, choose what to show, watch what everyone else is doing, and gradually risk confusing the version of ourselves that receives validation with the person underneath it.
The song is not meant as a rejection of technology or social media. The more interesting question for us was about discernment. Inspiration can come from everywhere, including the digital world. The problem begins when the feed stops being something we look at and quietly becomes something we use to define ourselves.
So at its core, “Who Am I: For You Page (FYP)” is about the tension between identity and influence.
The world keeps offering answers:
Be this. Want this. Look like this. Follow this. Become this.
And underneath all that noise remains a much simpler, much harder question:
Who am I when the feed is gone?
Having both Keviv’s and Ilajna’s versions was important because this is not one person’s problem. The details may differ, but the search for an authentic self inside a world built around comparison, visibility and constant influence is something both voices can experience differently while asking the same fundamental question.
That question also becomes one of the central threads running through Coming of Age…: before we can understand where we belong in the world, we first have to work out which parts of us are genuinely ours.
